Popo and Momo come for a visit!

The highlight of our month has been a visit from Popo and Momo (Carlos's dad and stepmom). They live in Colorado and came for a 5 day visit. We had a wonderful time! Isaac went to his first baseball game (we had incredible seats!), and he met quite a few family members for the first time: Momo's sister and mom, Tio Luis and Leslie (Popo's brother and his wife), Crystal, Hunter, and T.J. (Tio Luis' daughter, her son, and her boyfriend), and Dusty (Tio Luis' son). We were sad to see them go, but look forward to a visit to Colorado to see them sometime this summer!

I've finally put together the penguin page so that you can see how much he has grown in comparison to the penguin his Welita bought for him. It's amazing to see his growth and development all in just a few pictures!

My mom stayed with us the first week after he was born and I have new pictures from her camera of those first few days. I'm amazed to look back at how tiny he was! People would tell me he was, but I just couldn't imagine anything different. Now I've got a chunky little guy to compare those pictures to!

There are also some pictures from early April that include watching the Astros first game of the season with Dad (on TV, not in person). Other fun stuff from the month . . . I found a birthmark and a freckle that I don't believe were there before! :o) He discovered his ears, has started laughing, and is now teething! I'm glad the laughing came first. It's such a reward for how tough the teething "episodes" can be!

Also, a friend of ours (Nicole Watson), has taken pictures of Isaac for us a couple of times. From time to time those pictures show up on her photo blog, so I thought I'd provide a link of those pictures. There's one of Carlos and I just two weeks before Isaac was born (at a Christmas party), one we used on his birth announcement (my favorite picture of him so far!), a picture of us kissing him (at 2 months), one of Carlos and Isaac (Isaac looks so serious!), and one of the three of us making an "Isaac sandwich". :o) If you have the time, you really should play around on her photo blog. She has tons of incredible pictures.

March and Easter pictures

Here are some March pictures. It’s been a quiet month, so I mainly did “photo shoots.” Unfortunately, I didn’t think to take more pictures at Easter, but there are a few.

According to the pictures, my new favorite thing is his smile. I took any opportunity to catch him smiling! I keep thinking he’s going to laugh any day now. His cooing keeps getting louder and his smiles get bigger! He’s also developing a sense of humor, and it’s incredibly funny to try to find more things that make him smile.

Fun things this month:
~His new favorite “toy” is his tongue. You’ll see that in the pictures toward the end.
~He has learned to roll from his tummy to his back. He learned that when he was mad, and has gotten better ever since. =o)
~He cries real tears now (and sometimes so do I!). I was dreading that day, but I handled it better than I thought. I did not break down immediately!
~His Aunt Janae came over and he tried to grab the pictures printed on her pants!
~He discovered that we have cats. I told him they lived with us before he came along, but I don’t think he believed me. =o)
~He drove on Daddy’s lap for the first time. Carlos says he’s a natural!

More from February

I have added pictures to the set from Jolyn and Sebastian's wedding and reception.

I have also added more February pictures. These include a few Valentine's Day pictures, a Rodriguez family get-together (Carlos's mom's side of the family), and a visit with my Grandmother.

I also took pictures at Conley Elementary when Carlos helped them update their planter boxes.

Two Months

Isaac is now two months old and is getting stronger every day. He has started smiling more and had his first "cooing conversation" with his mom and dad on Sunday.

I have added several sets of pictures.

One set is from the shower that our church threw us. Another family (the Robisons) had their daughter in October, so the shower honored both Isaac and Elizabeth.

Another set is from New Year's Day. Mark and Nicole Watson brought us dinner and took these pictures. (Nicole also took the shower pictures and the "two month photo shoot" pictures. She is an incredible photographer! Thanks, Nicole!!!)

I've also added more January pictures, a few February pictures, pictures from our first trip to church and Superbowl Sunday, and our two month photo shoot with Nicole Watson.

My sister, Jolyn, married Sebastian on Valentine's Day, so I've added pictures of the wedding and reception, too.

Also, I have had a question about this, so I wanted to make you aware that when you click on the links to view the pictures, there's an option on the left to "Download Album" so that you can save the pictures to your computer, and there's an option above the pictures to "Order Prints" where you can order them from Shutterfly and Photo Works. Isaac Samuel Munoz was born at home on December 17, 2007 at 2:55 a.m. He weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces and was 18.5 inches long.

A friend told me, "this time will go fast, so take lots of pictures." I don't pretend to take great pictures, but I do unapologetically take lots of them. Lots of sleeping baby pictures. Lots of pictures of feet. Lots of pictures of Isaac with Daddy. I don't want to forget anything.
