Photos and a Few Newsworthy Things

Well, I'm going to start with the "newsworthy" items.

First, for those of you who don't yet know, we're expecting baby #2! Our little girl is due January 15, 2010, and will be named Isabel Natalia Munoz. We are quite excited!

Second, we've moved, so if you need our new address, please get in touch with us. We still don't have a home phone, but our cell phone numbers haven't changed.

Now on to the fun stuff . . . pictures! I know there are huge gaps in the pictures I've sent, but I'll try to fill them in eventually. We got a new camera at the beginning of August, so that's where all these pictures came from. Here are some miscellaneous August pictures, including a couple of trips to Meyer Park. Somehow, playground equipment makes a great backdrop for cute pictures, not to mention the natural smiles that go along with it!!! Also in August, my brother Jared married his beautiful bride, Alisha (welcome to the family, Alisha)!!! We also attended Gaby's 3rd birthday party, where Isaac swung at a pinata for the first time.

One of the fun functions of our camera is the ability to take videos. Our last camera didn't allow sound, so this is really fun for me! Here is some of the fun I've had with videos:

the Nutria at Meyer Park (disgusting animal!)

I'll work on getting other pictures together . . . I'd love to be caught up by the time Isabel is born! Until then, stay in touch!

More pictures!

Time is just flying! I felt bad that I hadn't sent out pictures last time, and resolved to do better, but I think this is as good as it's going to be for a while. And while I wish I really did send pictures more often, I somehow don't feel so bad. I'm really just enjoying my little baby . . . who, by the way, isn't so very little any more! So here are the pictures from December, January, and February.

In December we had his birthday (those pictures will come later), followed by a "mini surprise party" at Uncle Mark and Aunt Janae's house. It was really cute. They hung ribbon from the ceiling and an 8.5x11 sign on the wall. But you'll see it. We took the last of the first year penguin pictures (but we're thinking we'll do it about every 3 months until he stops changing so much!). Then, of course, there was Christmas! What fun to have a 1-year-old at Christmas! We got to see Carlos's cousins who are currently living in Indonesia. They have a daughter one month older than Isaac, so it was fun to watch them interact!

In January we went to Larissa's birthday party (Larissa is Isaac's 4-year-old cousin). Her birthday party was at 7-Acre-Wood, which is a really great place to have a kid's birthday party! Isaac was too nervous for the pony ride, but really enjoyed seeing (not touching) the animals in the petting zoo, and playing on the playground equipment. This mama didn't know how hard it was going to be to let go of her baby at the top of the slide! He enjoyed it tremendously, though! Other than that, I just took a few opportunities to take snapshots of daily life!

Right now I only have a few February pictures, and they're mainly just Isaac sleeping or playing. He's really getting into books lately. He's enjoyed them before, but he keeps bringing them to me and wanting to read them over and over. Fun stuff! I don't have pictures of this, but we did go to story time at the library once, and he really enjoyed that. He loved watching all the other kids (most of them were a good bit older than him), and one of the older girls told me (more than once) "You have a baby!" She seemed pretty excited to see a new baby in the room!

Isaac is now walking really, really well, and loves to play outside on the slide and swing. He's not sure about the trampoline, yet. Having the floor move under you is pretty intimidating! He loves to watch Lillie jump, though! He's also going through a growth spurt lately, and I can't feed him quite enough! I think he literally eats all day!

Enjoy the pictures! I'll try to post more often, but if you don't hear from me, just know that somewhere, Isaac and his parents are just enjoying each other! LOL!!!

It's been a while . . .

Wow! I didn't realize I hadn't posted since August! I look at how much Isaac has grown in just a few short months and am in disbelief!!! While he is still very much a little baby, he is also growing to be quite the little "man". My, how time flies!

In just a few months' time he has learned to:
~pull himself up to standing
~crawl
~move himself from his belly to sitting
~clap
~say/wave "bye bye" (when he's in the mood!)
~cruise along the furniture
~bite!
~climb stairs
~walk behind push toys
~stand by himself
~take a couple of steps
~say "WOW!" and "Yeah!"
~imitate sounds that others make

He has also:
~outgrown his infant car seat and is now in a "convertible" car seat
~cut five teeth (and is working on another)!
~ridden on a four wheeler with Daddy
~ridden out a hurricane and then evacuated for the sake of air conditioning :o)
~celebrated a Darcy Anne Ramos' 10th "birth day" with her. She is a beautiful little Trisomy 18 baby who went to be with Jesus at just 15 days old. (If you'd like to read about her beautiful story, visit her website: http://www.darcyanne.weebly.com/)
~took pictures in a pumpkin patch (at The Old Time Christmas Tree Farm)
~saw Tio Leo and Tia Julie for the first time since birth!
~attended our church's Reformation Festival
~got his first taste of candy . . . oops! :o)
~voted in a Presidential election . . . or at least went with Mom and Dad to vote!
~watched Nana skydive in honor of her 60th birthday!
~celebrated Mom and Dad's 9th anniversary!
~celebrated Great-Grandmother's 95th birthday!

Life has been full, and Mom and Dad wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything in the world.

On to the pictures. I've divided them up by month just to get them out quickly. In August you'll find more swimming pictures (in Uncle Curtis' and Aunt Julie's canal). In September you'll find Labor Day pool party pictures and Hurricane Ike pictures. In October you'll find pictures in the pumpkin patch, pictures of Tio Leo and Tia Julie's visit, and Reformation Festival pictures. In November you'll find Tio Leo and Tia Julie's baby shower pictures, Nana, Aunt Andy, Uncle James, and Uncle Jesse skydiving, and Great-Grandmother's 95th birthday party.

Eventually I'd like to divide them up better, but that may only happen offline. :o)

I was going to continue to post them on the Picasa site, but ran out of storage. At the same time, Shutterfly started allowing free downloading of pictures. If you'd like the pictures and can't figure out how to download them, please e-mail me and I'll send you the pictures you're after via e-mail.

Enjoy the photos!

Catching Up From the Summer

Now that I'm back to using the computer more, I can finally post all the pictures I've taken!!!

There are a few pictures from late June, a bunch from July, a set from when Popo came to visit, and swimming at Gabi's 2nd birthday party.

At Gabi's birthday party, Aunt Janae had her camera, which also takes short videos, so we also have five video clips. I was so grateful because this was Isaac's first time in a pool. He LOVED it!!!

Swimming video 1
Swimming video 2
Swimming video 3
Swimming video 4
Swimming video 5

Isaac has reached several milestones just recently, too.

~he has started crawling
~he can go from his belly to sitting on his own
~he's pulling up on furniture (sometimes letting go, but not standing)
~he climbed up on a short stool holding onto my hands
~he claps a lot
~he's saying "Da da" and "bye bye"
~and he cut two top teeth!

It's amazing how quickly he is growing and changing!!!

Some Unforgotten Pictures

Our friend, Nicole, has uploaded some pictures for me that I have been forgetting to post. She takes great pictures and will continue to be our photographer of choice. :o)

Here are some pictures from March 29th, when we had a photo shoot in the bluebonnets. They turned out great!!!

And these pictures are from July 11th, when we gave Isaac avocado for the first time (his first solid food). He wasn't so sure about the avocado. The more foods we've given him, the more convinced I am that he decides what he likes based on the texture of the food. I gave him banana chunks today (not mashed), and he liked it . . . but only if he fed himself! Like father, like son!

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Lazy Summer Days

Since I haven't been online much, I'm behind on posting pictures!

I've updated his penguin page to include a new picture or two. I can't believe how fast he has grown! There are also pictures from Isaac's baby dedication (taken by Shona, from church . . . THANKS!), as well as pictures from late May and early June. There are also pictures from my sister, Julie. These are from my family shower as well as from the week after Isaac's birth.

So . . . what's new? Well, my family is in the habit of having "Mother's Day on Memorial Day," so there are pictures of that. In some of the pictures he's sitting up, but those were mostly lucky shots because he kept falling over. :o) He's sitting up very well on his own now, though.

He also met newborn puppies for the first time. Chopper (Willie and Cheri's dog) had puppies at the very end of May. For the most part, they excite Isaac, but there was one time where the puppies' whining made him nervous. More than anything, he just wants a handful of fur!!! :o)

Tio Leo came to San Antonio for work, see we went on a roadtrip with Welita to visit him. It was great fun and Isaac had his first Riverboat ride. Great memories! It was especially fun to see Leo with Isaac knowing that he and Julie are expecting their first baby in December! We are so excited!!!

Isaac has learned to sit up quite well and is tying to learn to crawl. However, he's also practicing standing as much as we'll let him. If he takes after Daddy, he'll be walking before too long. You can tell that he has places to go, so I won't be surprised at all when he finally takes off.

He also has his first two teeth, and is still teething! The first tooth came in the last Sunday in May and the second came in a week later. We introduced him to avocado this past Friday, and he spit it out, gagged on it, and then asked for more. We got a few pictures of it, so I'll post them eventually.

I've been meaning to mention that if you have ever taken pictures of Isaac that you'd like to share, let me know. I'll work with you on uploading them with mine. I would love it!!!

Late April, Early May

I'm sure I'm the only mother who feels this way about her 5-month old baby, but he is becoming more and more delightful every day! He smiles and laughs more, especially at things you didn't think would make him laugh! He laughed at Nana out of the blue one day. She was sitting next to me and talking to me and Uncle James, and he just laughed at her. She said, "Are you laughing because Nana is just so funny looking?" and that made him laugh more!

This past Saturday he started to give us kisses! Since he was born I would lean in and say, "Give mama kisses!" and on Saturday he grabbed my face and initiated the kiss! He gave Daddy kisses, too. Interestingly enough, he seems to be shy about them. When he knows he's on display (if we're trying to show someone else that he's kissing us), he usually won't do it! He gives them freely in private, though. I passed in front of a mirror, stopped and said, "Isaac, look! Who do you see?" He got very excited, turned and grabbed my face, and kissed me! It's amazing the emotion you can feel when your baby initiates the affection. For the first few months you kiss on them and love on them assuming they love you back. Then they smile at you, and then laugh, but something about those kisses is magical, even if they are a little bit messy! :o)

OK, on to the pictures! Here are pictures from late April. Many of them are photo shoots, but we did have a couple of exciting things in there! Carlos' best friend, Jack, and his wife, Pam, came out to meet him for the first time. That turned into a bigger party than I anticipated! Uncle Mark, Aunt Janae, and Nana also came and we grilled burgers and hot dogs. As anyone who's been to our house knows, that's quite a crowd for our little place! We had a great time.

He also participated in his first church picnic . . . sort of. It was supposed to storm pretty badly, so we had the picnic inside the school where we meet for church. There were games to play outside, but Isaac and I stayed inside so he could nap and I could chat with some of the ladies. That was another really good time.

Here are pictures from early May. He is learning to play with toys, instead of waiting for the toys to play with him! While I don't mind being the entertainment, it's been fun to watch him play and entertain himself. It's fun to watch from a distance what amuses him and how he amuses himself! He's been playing in a "Jump & Go" that hangs in a doorway, and it has lights and music. At first he didn't think he liked it, but after figuring out that the music and sounds were fun instead of scary, and that he wasn't just hanging in thin air, he started to like it. Now he looks across the room at it, as if to say, "Any time you're ready to let me play in that thing, Mom, I'm ready to go!" He also has two different play mats that have toys hanging over him that he's started to play with.

We celebrated my first Mother's Day at Uncle Jesse and Aunt Tanya's new house, which is absolutely beautiful! They just put in a new saltwater pool, so this summer I imagine we'll get plenty of pictures there! You'll also find some pictures of crocheted ducks in this set. I crocheted these for Lillie Mae for her 2nd birthday and discovered that crocheting toys is incredibly fun for me! I've also crocheted a couple of baby blocks, but I need to re-upload the picture I took. So for now, you'll see my little ducks that I'm so proud of.
